Brooke Friendly

Brooke FriendlyBrooke Friendly has been folk and country dancing for over 30 years. She was a founding member of The Heather and the Rose Country Dancers (H&R), a statewide organization promoting English and Scottish Country Dance with several branches throughout Oregon whose teachers use global terminology for calling dances. She served as H&R's treasurer and secretary for seven years. She served six years on the Country Dance and Song Society Board of Directors.

Brooke has been leading a weekly English and Scottish Country Dance in Ashland Oregon since 1982. She teaches dance classes the Southern Oregon University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute as well as an academic credit class at SOU. Brooke also leads family dances and teaches dance at local K-12 schools. She coordinates the Ashland branch's annual spring ball that celebrated its 31st anniversary in 2011.

She and her husband Chris Sackett have published three volumes of country dances (Impropriety) and CD of tunes for their books.
